đź’ˇ From the 19 to 22 of May 2026 the SACRED partners gathered for the 4th Transnational Project Meeting, hosted in the elegant setting of Villa Langenigo-Zucchelli, a historic 17th-century villa and current home of EnEA’s Innovation and Development Office. Over three days, the partners worked together to shape the SACRED e-learning platform, while also taking part in two study visits across the Veneto region.Â
Day 1: Jointly revising the project status and the SACRED e-learning platform
The meeting opened with a deep dive into the heart of the SACRED project: the e-learning platform, which is designed to train healthcare students and professionals in the care of older adults living with dementia and/or various types of disabilities (multimorbidity). Throughout the day, partners shared progress on the training modules currently under development, and discussions became particularly dynamic when exploring how to make the training more engaging through interactive features such as quizzes and multimedia elements. Moreover, the division of content by partner, as well as the coming peer-reviews and testing workshops have been discussed.
 Day 2: Receiving a ministerial visit and planning for the pilot phase
The second day was an especially eventful one. The partners were honoured by a visit from Paola Roma, Regional Minister for Social Services, Housing and Sport of the Veneto Region, who expressed strong interest in the project and underlined the importance of connecting health services, social support and community engagement. The day was also crucial for planning the project’s upcoming pilot activities, which will officially start in 2027 and involve 96 learners across six locations: Rotterdam (NL), Treviso (IT), Syros (GR), Valencia (ES), Flanders (BE), and Tenerife (ES). In the afternoon, partners visited EnEA’s Specialised Dementia Centre, learning about its person-centred approach to care, and the day was rounded off with a live musical performance by Willem Philipsen, representing the City of Rotterdam, who played the official SACRED project song for all the partners. The music is covered among others, as background music on our SACRED YouTube videos.

Day 3: Study visit to IRCCS San Camillo
The final day led the SACRED partnership to the Venice Lido for a study visit to IRCCS San Camillo, a highly specialised hospital and research institute recognised for its excellence in the rehabilitation and treatment of neurological conditions. Researchers guided the group through their ongoing work, and the visit also hosted a stakeholder co-design workshop as part of the CO-CREATOR project, in which SACRED partners contributed insights on building a transferable Citizens Network for Research model. The day was further enriched by the presence of Gino Gerosa, Regional Minister of Health for the Veneto Region, who expressed great appreciation for the SACRED project and reaffirmed the Region’s commitment to supporting innovative health initiatives.
To summarise, the Transnational Project Meeting in Treviso marked important days for the SACRED project. Partners returned home with clear directions for the next phase of the journey (the peer-review and testing workshops). Â
