đź’ˇ The Erasmus+ project: ‘SACRED – Sharing And Caring for at-Risk Elderly with Dementia or Disabilities’ was presented at the ELISAN (European Local Inclusion and Social Action Network) General Assembly 2026, held in Valencia (Spain) from 15 to 17 June 2026. The event brought together more than 150 representatives from local and regional authorities, universities, healthcare organisations, and civil society to discuss innovative approaches to social inclusion, disability, and community wellbeing.

The General Assembly was organised jointly with the meeting of the Inclusive Cities for Sustainable Families signatories, supporting the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities). The event also took place within the framework of the International Year of Volunteering for Sustainable Development and was supported by the Conference of INGOs of the Council of Europe as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations.

During the Assembly, Oscar Zanutto (EnEA, Treviso, Italy) and Miltos Sakellariou (Social Cooperative Altera Vita, Greece, and ENSEL Coordinator) presented two of SACRED’s key project outputs currently under development: the Database of Good Practices and the e-learning platform.

The Database of Good Practices, comprising more than 20 carefully selected and evaluated examples from across Europe, was presented as a valuable resource showcasing innovative, person-centred approaches to the care of older adults living with dementia and disabilities. The database aims to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and the transfer of effective care models among healthcare professionals and organisations.

Participants were also introduced to the structure and training modules of the SACRED e-learning platform, which is being developed to equip healthcare students and professionals with practical skills and evidence-based knowledge through interactive, accessible learning resources.

The presentation generated considerable interest among participants and provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the project’s progress, exchange expertise with European stakeholders, and strengthen cooperation in promoting high-quality, person-centred care for older adults across Europe.
